Holly McDaniel Joins Austin Diaper Bank as Executive Director

The Austin Diaper Bank is pleased to welcome Holly McDaniel as its new executive director, effective Aug. 22. McDaniel succeeds Beverly Hamilton, who founded the Austin Diaper Bank in 2013 and will remain on the nonprofit’s Board of Directors.

McDaniel brings to the Austin Diaper Bank more than 15 years of leadership experience at several nonprofits in both Austin and California, focusing on business development, nonprofit management and donor development. She was chosen by the Austin Diaper Bank Board of Directors after an extensive search process.

“As the Austin Diaper Bank enters its fifth year, we believe Holly has the skills, experience and enthusiasm needed to grow the Austin Diaper Bank to better meet the diaper needs of families, children and seniors in Central Texas,” said Board Chairman Julie Remde. “We are lucky to have someone of Holly’s talent on board and are excited to work with her to move the Austin Diaper Bank forward.”

“I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers to create an exciting new chapter in the Austin Diaper Bank’s development and ensure we meet the diaper needs of all families in Austin and our surrounding communities,” McDaniel said.

Most recently, McDaniel served as director of development at Art Alliance Austin. During her three years with the organization, she managed and led the development department and was part of an executive team that guided Art Alliance Austin through a complete overhaul of programming, outreach and business relationships.

Previously, she was director of individual giving and philanthropy at KMFA, 89.5, the classical public radio station in Austin. While living in California, McDaniel served Polytechnic School in Pasadena as director of its annual fund, and was special events manager for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) in Los Angeles.

McDaniel earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from Occidental College in Los Angeles.

The Austin Diaper Bank, a local 501(c)(3) organization (www.austindiaperbank.org) helps close the "diaper gap" in the community by distributing donated or purchased diapers for needy babies and seniors through more than 40 partner agencies in a region from Georgetown to San Marcos. To date, the Austin Diaper Bank has distributed more than 750,000 diapers.
