White House and Pres. Obama Talk Diaper Gap In Advance of SXSW Visit

President Obama and the White House are pushing a plan for civic engagement and using technology to solve social issues. The President will address these issues today while speaking at SXSW. The example that Obama is holding up is an unlikely collaboration: how retail companies, manufacturers and non-profits are working together to to provide diapers to poor families, a basic need that is often overlooked.

Huggies is donating 22 million diapers nationwide to help address the diaper gap. 10,000 diapers were just donated this morning to Austin Diaper Bank to emphasize its support of fighting diaper need while the President in town. THANK YOU HUGGIES!

Austin Diaper Bank is the only organization of its kind in the greater Austin area. The group has raised over 350,000 diapers for over 5,000 babies and senior citizens in need since incorporation in June 2013. As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, Austin Diaper Bank works collaboratively with the social services agencies in the area to get diapers where they are needed most.
